4. Great Gatsby
5. Lord of the Flies
6. Fahrenheit 451
7. The Stranger
8. God at the Ritz
9. A lot of Shakespeare, favorite being Othello.
10. To Kill a Mockingbird

Those were my favorite books that I read in my honors classes in high school.

While my slant is toward American Lit, these books with their illusions and themes help students to become "people on whom nothing is lost."
