"King Lear" by Shakespeare FREE Video and eText
Is it possible to have your students read William Shakespeare's "King Lear" in its entirely in one night? Or, if you were really nice, over the weekend? Yes!
The Adam Smith Academy is proud to announce that we have uploaded the text of "King Lear," along with an accompanying video of the play with subtitles -- so that the students can read and watch the play at the same time!

"Two Friends" by Guy De Maupassant Free Audio & eText
For all those that know, Guy De Maupassant was a wonderfully gifted short story writer. "Two Friends" is no different. This simple story of two friends, who enjoyed fishing together before the war, ask for and receive permission to fish once again at their favorite place within earshot of the Prussian guns. They soon find themselves in enemy hands, and are given a chance to go free if one or the other would betray both their homeland and their friend by giving up the password to the Prussian commander. Will they? Or, which one will betray their friendship to live?
